Exchange Rate Calculator
Convert an amount at an exchange rate you supply.
Quick answer
- Formula: Converted = Amount × Rate; Inverse rate = 1 ÷ Rate
- Worked example — Converted amount: 92.00 (full example below).
Exchange Rate Calculator
| Converted amount | 92.00 |
| Inverse rate | 1.0870 |
100 units at a rate of 0.92 convert to 92.00 units; the inverse rate is 1.0870.
A transparent converter: you enter the exchange rate (from your bank, card statement or a rate you were quoted), and the calculator converts the amount and shows the inverse rate.
Rates are deliberately not pulled in automatically — bank and card rates differ from headline market rates, and the rate you were actually quoted is the one that matters for your money.

Frequently asked questions
Where do I find the rate to enter?
Use the rate on your bank or card quote for real conversions. Headline mid-market rates (the ones search engines show) exclude the spread and fees your provider adds.
Why is the rate my bank gives worse than the one online?
Providers add a margin (spread) to the mid-market rate, typically 0.5–3% for cards and more at airport exchanges. Comparing the inverse rates here helps you see the true cost.
